Eleanor’s hair will help cancer child

A teenage girl has raised £400 for local charity Pendleside Hospice after making the brave decision to shave off her long brunette hair.

Eleanor Martland (15), from Brierfield, took part in the sponsored head shave on July 17th.

But that wasn’t the end of Eleanor’s kindness, because she then donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs to young boys and girls across the UK and Ireland who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

The money raised will go directly towards the £2.8m which has to be raised each year locally to help the hospice provide its services.
