BURNLEY children raised £750 by recycling their old clothes.
Pupils from Wellfield Primary School, in Wellfield Drive, sent their bags full of clothes and shoes to company Bags 2 School. Some of the items will be recycled while others will benefit families in developing countries.
The school was paid £375 for the bags and Barclays bank matched the amount, taking the grand total to £750, which will be used to resurface the school’s all-weather pitch.
TURNING CLOTHES INTO CASH: Wellfield Primary School pupils Cara McCormick (6), Rachel Cosway (9), Chloe McNally (10) and Ellie-Mai McKenna (6) with the clothes bags.
