A popular primary school teacher has retired after nearly three decades at the same school.
Mrs Susan Mullen worked at St Mary’s RC Primary School, Holcombe Drive, for 26 years, teaching across the whole age range from reception to Year 6.
During her time at the school, Mrs Mullen had worked as the RE co-ordinator and literacy co-ordinator.
Colleagues praised her as a much-respected member of St Mary’s teaching staff who will be very much missed.
Headteacher Mr Ian Jones and deputy Mrs Amanda Barrett, who has worked alongside Mrs Mullen for all the 26 years, said they would miss her very much and wished her a well-deserved retirement.
The school held a Mass to celebrate her many years teaching and children made cards for her.
The governors presented her with a rose bush and the staff bought her gifts.
