An award-winning children’s holiday club, which provides sports education and activities to 30,000 children every week, celebrated being packed to capacity at its Burnley site during the school holidays.
FUNDA played host to 120 children daily at Burnley College. Youngsters from the ages of three to 11 took part in a selection of games and activities, including everything from football coaching and team building exercises, to water fights and an obstacle course on a giant inflatable.
Burnley is just one of the sites the clubs are held across Lancashire and FUNDA founder Kieran Fletcher said it was one of the most successful. He said: “We were packed to capacity every day at Burnley. Since launching eight years ago our reputation has spread.’’
The winner in 2014 of Lancashire Business View Red Rose awards, FUNDA were also finalists at this year’s Burnley Business Awards in the small business category.
At the moment Kieran is putting the finishing touches to an innovative programme to support PE teachers in primary schools, aiming to get children and parents involved in sports and activities through FUNDA themed homework and games.
