Pupils at a Burnley primary school were given an insight into Army life as they prepared to greet soldiers taking part in last week’s homecoming parade.
Youngsters at St Peter’s Primary School made flags to wave as the 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment marched through the town centre.
Capt. Pete Hodgson, from the regiment, also visited the school to tell Year 6 pupils about becoming a soldier and life in the Army.
He took some equipment with him, including a helmet, to give the youngsters an idea of how much weight soldiers have to carry while on duty.
