Padiham Primary was one of the schools to receive a defibrillator which can double a person’s chances of survival if they collapse with a heart attack.

The machine, which costs around £1,200, is located in the office at the school in Burnley Road and 10 staff have been trained to use it already.

The school has thanked the donor, who only wishes to be known as Margaret, for the gift that will help to make pupils, staff and visitors to the school a lot safer.

A spokesman for the school said: “We would like to thank this amazing lady for a gift that can save lives and also ensure her son’s memory lives on.”
