Family and friends of the late Mr Phillip Backhouse travelled to Cyprus to see a plaque in his memory unveiled at the hospice he supported.
Mr Backhouse and his wife, Brenda, were well known in Clitheroe, Whalley, Burnley and Padiham before making their home in Cyprus, where they worked for many years raising thousands of Euros to help make the hospice dream a reality.
The Archangel Michael Hospice, in Paphos, opened last June and Mr Backhouse died there in October, aged 67.
Donations were made at Requiem Masses, at St Paul’s, in Paphos and St John’s RC, Padiham.
Hospice trustees erected a plaque to honour his memory, and it was unveiled by Mr Backhouse’s wife Brenda and son John (pictured).
