Burnley magistrates heard how Barrie Anne Pounder was one of three people seen on CCTV shoplifting.

Pounder admitted theft. The 36-year-old, of Briercliffe Road, Burnley, must pay £25 to M and S after the crime on August 8th. The bench told her she played a lesser role in what was a group action.

Mr Mark Williams (defending) told the court Pounder said she had gone into the store with two others, one of them her boyfriend at the time.

The solicitor added: "He selected some meat and placed it into a bag she was carrying. She didn't ask him to do that but didn't prevent it and in effect went along with it."
