Two men were arrested after a fight broke out at a popular Burnley gym.
A 41-year-old man from Burnley has been cautioned for public order following the incident at Xercise4Less, in Kingsway, on Monday lunchtime. Another man (30), also from Burnley, was arrested on suspicion of affray and has been bailed until March 20th.
Insp. Phil Hutchinson said the pair had been exercising in the gym when they had started fighting. The altercation then spilled out onto the street.
He said: “It has been captured on CCTV and officers were quickly on the scene. We would like to thank everyone for their calls.”
A spokesman for Xercise4Less said: “We were very disappointed to see gym-goers getting physical with each other rather than the equipment... exercise releases a lot of endorphins but we absolutely do not tolerate violence or aggressive behaviour in our gyms - in fact we pride ourselves in Xercise4Less being a very friendly environment.
“As soon as we were aware of the disagreement our manager asked the guys to leave the gym and then contacted the police to ensure it was dealt with appropriately.”
