Two teens arrested in Burnley following on from anti-social dispersal order in the town

The two teenagers were arrested following reports of anti-social behaviour in the Bank Hall area of Burnley.

It comes after Lancashire Police were called out to Thurston Street shortly after 6pm on Monday, April 5 to reports of anti-social behaviour where around 30 youths were reported to have met up.

Officers attended and they received further reports of an assault and an allegation of racial abuse.

The force stepped up its patrols in the area and two dispersal orders were also issued due to the ongoing Covid restrictions allowing police to move on anyone that is acting, or is likely to act, in an anti-social manner in the area.

Officers also launched an investigation and boy and girl, both from Burnley, were arrested on Friday on suspicion of racially aggravated public order and affray.

The pair have both been released on police bail pending further enquires.
