A delivery driver had his van stolen by thieves near a Burnley primary school.

The man was delivering parcels on Scott Park Road when two men stole his white Volkswagon Transporter van.

The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later in Whitegate Close in Padiham following the theft at 3pm last Monday.

A handheld scanning device and a sat-nav system were stolen in the incident.

Detectives are hunting the two men and have released an image of a man they want to speak to as part of the investigation.

DS Alisa Wilson, of Eastern Division CID, said: “Police are appealing for information regarding the incident and the identity of the two men responsible for the offence. Police would also like to identify the male shown in the CCTV images.

“At that time of day the area may have been busy with parents collecting children from Rosehill and Christ the King primary schools and I would ask anyone with information to phone 101 quoting log LC-20140512-0738.”
