Teenage boy left heartbroken after late dad's bike stolen from him in Reedley
A teenage boy has been left heartbroken after his late father's bicycle was stolen from him in a cruel daylight robbery.
The incident happened on Friday evening in Reedley Drive, Reedley, when a group of around five Asian males forced the boy from his bike and made off with it at around 7-30pm.
The bike is a seven year old black "GT" mountain bike with the name "timberline" also on the cross rail. It belonged to the boy's late father and the boy is only now just big enough to inherit and enjoy it. He was left bruised and badly shaken from the incident.
A police spokesman said: "Sometime between 7-20pm and 7-30pm on May 15th a 13 year-old boy had been on his bike on his way home. He had been at a ginnel next to a house named Sherwood on Reedley Drive, when he slowed down to let five Asian males with one of them on a push bike pass.
"The victim was pushed to the floor and assaulted by the group and had his bike stolen. He returned home and it was reported to us.
"The incident under investigation and anyone with information can contact us on 101 with the log number LC-20200515-1301."
The family of the victim have offered a reward of £100 for the bike's safe return.
