Team manager accused of theft

A Padiham man has appeared before Burnley Magistrates' Court, accused of stealing more than £32,600 while working for Alternative Futures Group.

Carl Storer (29) is charged with theft by employee – £32,690 belonging to the group – between September 1st 2014, and March 7th this year, at Burnley.

Storer also faces eight allegations of fraud by abuse of position, alleged to have taken place when he was a team manager for the group and involving eight alleged victims, between October 2014 and March 2016.

The defendant, represented by Mr Mark Williams, will have his case heard at Burnley Crown Court.

He did not indicate pleas.

Storer, of Herbert Street, Padiham, was unconditionally bailed by District Judge Alan Jones until a hearing on November 21st.
