The RSPCA is appealing for information after a Yorkshire terrier type dog was found in an emaciated state on a Burnley street.

The dog called Charlie was found straying behind Florence Street, south west Burnley, on May 25th and was taken in by a member of public who took him to a local vet.

An RSPCA spokesman said: “Charlie was in a pitiful emaciated state, he was wearing a new looking black flea collar which was far too big.

“We are appealing for information to find his owner or person responsible. Please call 03001234999, our 24/7 number, and leave a message for Inspector Taylor 13194.”
