'˜Reckless' drink driver a danger

A drink driver who was more than twice the limit was told by magistrates he had been a danger to other road users.

The Burnley bench said Kevin Ward’s actions had been intentional and “slightly reckless”. Ward (50), of Holyoake Street, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol, in Lowerhouse Lane, on April 24th.

He blew 80 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

He was fined £420 and told to pay a £42 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was banned for 20 months.
