Police warning to parents after gangs of youths' anti-social behaviour in Burnley town centre

Police are asking parents: "Do you know where your children are?" after reports of youths gathering and hurling abuse in the Standish Street area of the town centre.

Police said groups of up to 30 youths have been gathering around the town centre causing problems for stores and Charter Walk shopping centre.

A spokesman for Burnley and Padiham Police said: "Parents!! Do you know where your children are?!! Over the past few days we've had reports of anti-social behaviour on Standish Street in Burnley town centre. Groups of up to 30 youths have been gathering around town centre causing problems for stores and Charter Walk shopping centre.

"This group have been targeting members of the public with verbal abuse, this is totally unacceptable. We have CCTV of this group and will be followed up once this group have been identified.
