They followed the tracks all around Briercliffe and discovered the offenders had tried numerous car doors and had been up driveways.

The tracks were followed around Briercliffe, before coming out onto Eastern Avenue, where they crossed over onto Fleetwood Road/Cromer Avenue. The offenders tracks then disappeared on Briercliffe Road at the junction with Brennand Street due to the snow melting and the amount of foot traffic.

A spokesman for Burnley Police said: "I would encourage the residents of Briercliffe and surrounding areas to check any CCTV/ring doorbell footage or any dash cam footage to see if they have caught the offenders in the area.

"The time the offences occured at will have been between 03:30 and 05:30. Alternatively, if you have seen or know who these people are then we would like to hear from you.
