Three cars were stolen from outside two homes in the Rosehill area of Burnley after burglars snatched the keys from the properties.

The thefts happened overnight on Tuesday when a Fiat Panda and a Peugeot 207 were taken from Rosehill Road. On the same night a Seat Ibiza was stolen from outside a house in Rossendale Avenue.

The Panda was later recovered in Fenwick Street but the other two cars remain outstanding.

Sgt Tom Riley, of Burnley Police, said: “Somebody is obviously active in the Rosehill area so we are urging homeowners to be vigilant and ensure that their front and back doors are locked.

“The car keys were taken from inside the homes along with other property including jewellery.”

A man wearing a scarf over his face and a black baseball cap was seen in the area. Anyone with information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
