Officers spotted a black Ford Focus with false registration plates which they believe was connected to a burglary in Todmorden Road earlier in the week.

A spokesman for Burnley and Padiham Police explained: "On Thursday (June 18th), a burglary occurred on Todmorden Road, Burnley in broad daylight with the offenders forcing open the front door to a residential property. The offenders were linked to a black Ford Focus, which was discovered to be on false registration plates. Today, officers have sighted the vehicle travelling through Burnley and manged to put patrols in place who successfully deployed stinger and managed to deflate the vehicles tyres. The vehicle has then made off before crashing into a wall on Stewart Street. Three males have then attempted to run off from the vehicle into the wooded area of Towneley Golf Club. Unfortunately for them, they weren’t quick enough. "All three were arrested on suspicion of burglary."
