PCSO Will Hayes said: "The offenders targeting the vehicles appear to be opportunists; they are not breaking and entering it seems, but rather going from vehicle to vehicle to see if they’re unlocked.

"There are steps that you can take to make your homes and property more secure. Please ensure that you are doing the obvious stuff in securing your cars and home, storing your car in a garage if possible.

"Again, if you see anything suspicious, please call on 101.

"This message is not sent with the intention of alarming you, but rather to ask you to remain vigilant and let us know if you see anything you deem to be suspicious. Enquiries are ongoing, and we will continue to show a highly visible presence in the area.
