A car, that has been reported on numerous occasions for dangerous driving, was seized by police yesterday morning.

Complaints about the vehicle driving dangerously in and around Nelson have been made in the last couple of weeks.

It was stopped yesterday in Burnley by Tac Ops officers.

A spokesman for Burnley and Padiham Police said: "Although we are satisfied that the driver only acquired the vehicle yesterday, he unfortunately hadn’t checked the tyres properly before buying it.

"The vehicle was prohibited and seized due to both rear tyres having tread below the legal limit of 1.6mm.

"The driver was reported to court."
