Police renew appeal for witnesses or CCTV footage after serious crash in Burnley

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a 26-year-old man was hospitalised with serious head and spinal injuries after an accident on Colne Road.

The incident happened at around 3-30am last Tuesday (January 19th) when a "suspect vehicle" was spotted by police.

Following a short pursuit, the vehicle, a Honda Accord car, was involved in a collision with parked cars and lampposts on Colne Road at the junction with Casterton Avenue.

The driver was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with suspected head and spinal injuries. The road was closed by police while accident investigators attended the scene.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Police are asking witnesses who saw what happened or saw the Honda in the moments before the collision, to come forward.
