Police patrols increased after 'youth gatherings' causing problems around Pendle park

Concerns over gatherings of groups of youths on the bowling green in Marsden Park, Nelson, has led to police increasing patrols in and around the area.

And officers have warned anyone caught damaging property or acting in an anti-social manner will be dealt with accordingly.

A spokesman for Nelson, Brierfield and Barrowford Police said: "We have been made aware that a group of youths are causing problems on the bowling green in Marsden Park.

"We have spoken with members from the council yesterday who have been working hard in securing the fencing and fixing the damage being done to the greens.

"We will be increasing our patrols around the area and anyone identified to be causing damage or acting in an anti-social manner will be dealt with accordingly."
