Police patrol Burnley streets after reports of people flouting lockdown rules

Police have been carrying out extra patrols in the Daneshouse and Stonyholme area of Burnley this evening (Friday) after reports of Covid breaches.

Concerned residents have also complained about anti-social behaviour in the Merton Street area of the town.

PCSO Sam Baysal, of Burnley and Padiham Police, said: "We have had complaints via our Contact Centre and Lancashire Talking about anti-social behaviour and Covid breaches on Merton Street.

"Today and this weekend I will be out patrolling this area along with other contact hotspot areas to try and engage with you, the residents, to explain why we still need to all do our bit to keep everyone safe.
