Police issue nine fines in one evening for Covid breaches in Burnley

Police did not give details over the nature of the breaches but said they were already receiving calls of further breaches this evening.

A police spokesman said: "While the majority are sticking to the rules of Lockdown 2, there are some that still think they are exempt from them.

"We don’t have long to go until the current restrictions are lifted, let’s do this properly to get the infection rates down and to be able to enjoy Christmas!"
