Police in 'bogus builders' warning to East Lancs residents
Police are urging homeowners not to be taken in by bogus builders calling at their doors.
Officers from Nelson, Brierfield and Barrowford Police have been working with Trading Standards in relation to suspected bogus builders.
A police spokesman said: "These kind of people use cold calling methods and particularly prey on the vulnerable.
"They convince the occupants their property is in a state of disrepair and then over charge for the work carried out at the address. In some cases no repairs have actually taken place.
"Please look out for your elderly relatives or neighbours and report any suspicious contact to Trading Standards."
