Officers from the Pendle Brierfield Neighbourhood Policing team have been working with mounted policing officers over the weekend conducting high visibility patrols in Briefield and Nelson. As a result, motorists with excessively loud exhausts have been issued Section 59 fixed penalty notices.

PC Andy Sarchet, of Lancashire Constabulary, said: "During our patrols we have encountered anti-social, inconsiderate drivers who have been unnecessarily revving their engines adjacent to the police horses and other drivers with loud back firing exhausts causing unnecessary alarm and distress to the local community.
