Police appeal for witnesses after Padiham stabbing

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a stabbing or saw anything suspicious in the Padiham area last night after a 40 year old man needed treatment for stab wounds.

Police were called at shortly after 6.15pm on Sunday 21 June following reports a man had been stabbed on or near to Burnley Road.

The 40 year old man approached some members of the public on Gawthorpe Street and he was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds.

His injuries were not serious and he has since been discharged from hospital.

A 31 year old woman from Padiham and a 27 year old man from Blackburn were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and are currently in custody.
