Ribble Valley police are appealing for victims of bike thefts to come forward so they can reunite the bikes with their rightful owners.

The plea follows incidents of burglaries in the George Road and Charles Road areas of Clitheroe. Two men have been arrested and are helping police with their enquiries.

In a Facebook post, Clitheroe Police Sgt Kevin Day, said: "Do you recognise either of these bikes? We are hoping to reunite them with their owners.

The bikes in police custody

"Following some, quite frankly, brilliant and relentless police work by the Colne night team and Tac Ops, two men were arrested for burglary after incidents in the George Road and Charles Road area of Clitheroe.

"We believe that these bikes may have been taken from sheds or back gardens nearby and were dumped by our offenders as they ran.

"If you live in those areas, please check your CCTV for anything suspicious around 2am today (Thursday) and let us know. We will get someone round to take a look this morning.

"The two, ahem, gentlemen will be spoken with later today."
