Police are appealing for information following a couple of burglaries in the same area of Burnley.
Thieves targeted two houses not far from each other in Burnley on Thursday night. The first was reported just after midnight on Glen View Road when the thief smashed a window at the back of the house and stole a lap top computer from the dining table.
The second burglary was reported at 5 am yesterday (Friday) morning on Helm Close, Habergam Eaves. The offender or offenders entered through the patio doors at the back of the house and stole a handbag containing money and a phone.
A police spokesman urged local residents to make time to put property away and out of sight last thing at night, including phones on charge etc. Residents should also check that all the doors in their property are locked and keys removed, even while they are in.
Anyone with information on either of these incidents should call Burnley Police by dialling 101 or alternatively call Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
