Police appeal after serious Hapton crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a collision in Hapton last night.

A Subaru Impreza was found in Accrington Road with extensive damage after it is believed to have lost control and collided with some trees.

The vehicle was travelling from Hapton towards junction 9 of the M65.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was found outside of the vehicle with suspected head injuries. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Sgt Lee Harris of Lancashire’s Road Policing Unit, said: “We’re working to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and would urge anyone with information to speak to us.

"A man has suffered serious injury and is currently in hospital. Anyone who saw the collision, or the vehicle prior to the collision, is asked to contact police.”
