Officers were called to the town centre on Friday over reports of around 30 teenagers riding their bikes at speed, trying to knock over elderly people, while verbally abusing them.
PCSO Lee Tyler said: "They continued to ride around causing distress to those in the town going about their business, as well as riding the wrong way around the roundabout at Yorkshire Street almost causing several accidents.

"We are in the process of looking at CCTV with a view to identifying those responsible. However, if you have any information suggesting who was involved then please contact me on 07866 780391.
"Whilst you may think that this is not the 'crime of the century' let me assure you of one thing, it is not acceptable to put persons going about their daily business in fear of their personal safety, especially the elderly."
