Pendle Council leader Mohammed Iqbal has asked the public to let the police do their job after a teenager was shot in Brierfield.

The 18-year-old man was rushed to hospital with serious facial injures after a suspected firearm was discharged in Humphrey Street yesterday at 7-10pm.

“Police patrols are being stepped up in the area and we’re urging local people to let the police undertake their investigation so that the perpetrators can be identified, and appropriate action taken.
