Parents fined in Nelson after children breach Covid rules

Parents of children found to be causing criminal damage have been fined for breach of Covid rules.

Police last night received a report of a group of youths causing damage to a business site in the town.

Despite running away, officers recognised the individuals who had earlier been identified as part of a larger group causing anti-social behaviour around Nelson.

A police spokesman said: "This type of behaviour will not be tolerated, and action will be taken against those causing problems.

"Covid fines have been issued to parents due to their children continuously breaching Covid 19 regulations and action will be taken against those responsible for the damage caused."
