Christopher McKillop (36) of no fixed address, is wanted by police in connection with several alleged fraud offences in August.

McKillop is believed to have approached several properties in the Burnley and Padiham areas claiming he has run out of petrol and needs money to get his car back on the road.

Despite promises to pay the money back, McKillop is alleged to have taken the cash and made off from the area. Victims have made similar allegations in the Barrowford, Brierfield and Blackburn areas.

McKillop is also alleged to have approached homeowners in the county offering to carry out building work, but having taken payment, has not returned.

It is suspected McKillop could be in the Bournemouth area and police are appealing for information to help find him.

PC Rachel Carroll, of Burnley Police, said: “We are actively trying to locate McKillop and would ask anyone who may have seen him or knows where he is to get in touch with us.

“If you can help, please contact the police immediately.”
