A Burnley thief, awaiting sentence for a crime spree in the town, has been banned from stores.

Christopher Chapman took a £1,000 mountain bike from Halford Ltd and various goods from TK Maxx a month later.

He also stole coats from the shop just weeks after and electrical items worth £200 from the same premises last month, the town’s magistrates were told.

The 37-year-old helped himself to a 4K TV worth £150 from Cash Converters and a £169 jacket from Marks and Spencer.

Chapman, who has a record, admitted six counts of theft, last November 20th, December 20th, on January 16th and 28th and February 3rd and 4th.

The defendant, of Reed Street, Burnley, was conditionally bailed until April 3rd, for a pre-sentence report.

He is not to enter Tesco, Burnley, all stores on Burnley Retail Park, Anchor Retail Park, and Asda Retail Park, Aldi, B and M Bargains, The Range and any stores within the inner ring road of the town.
