Motorists delayed on M65 after two car collision

Part of the M65 that was partially closed today becaused of a road traffic collision is now fully reopened.

The incident, which happened westbound between junction 8, A6068 (Accrington) and junction 7, A6185 (Rishton), caused tailbacks for motorists travelling towards Blackburn from Burnley.

Two lanes were closed while accident and investigation work took place and the vehicles were recovered. Both sections of the motorway were fully reopened by 1 pm.

A police spokesman said two vehicles were involved in the accident.
