Police are appealing for information after a man with connections to East Lancashire has gone missing from home.

John Ritchie (52) was last seen in Wharfedale Avenue, Brierfield, on Saturday at around 3pm wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, a black or green coat and black trainers.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare and Sgt Phil Turner, from Colne Police, said: “It’s now been over 24 hours since Mr Ritchie went missing and we are urging anyone, including John himself, to please get in contact and let us know that he is okay.

“I would also say to Mr Ritchie that his family are worried, and I would like to reassure him that he is not in any trouble at all, we just want him back home safe and well.”

John is described as white, 5ft. 10in. tall, medium build, with short, straight dyed black hair. It is thought that he also has links to other areas including Colne, Nelson and Burnley.

Anyone with information can contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting reference number 1454 of 30 August or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
