A man was arrested after a teenage girl was knocked down in a hit and run outside Turf Moor on Saturday.
The 13-year-old was knocked unconscious in Belvedere Road after leaving Turf Moor following Burnley’s game with Southampton.
She was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where she was treated for cuts above her eye.
The 44-year-old alleged offender was arrested on the M6 in Cheshire making his way back to Southampton. He was due to be questioned by police yesterday.
Burnley police are also appealing for any witnesses to come forward following trouble between a small number of Burnley and Southampton fans after the game.
