Man (50) robbed in Burnley: police appeal

Police are appealing for information after a 50-year-old man was robbed in Burnley last night (Wednesday).

The incident happened about 10-40pm near the library in Coal Clough Lane when the local man was pushed to the floor and robbed of his mobile phone. He was left shaken but unhurt.

The robber is described as being a white man, aged about 18, 5ft. 10in. tall, wearing dark clothes.

Det Con Dave Greenwood, of Burnley CID, said: “This was a cowardly attack and I would appeal for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time to contact us.”
