Magistrates slap 22 month ban on Burnley drink driver who was more than twice over the limit

A drink-driver, more than twice the limit, failed to stop after a car was damaged, a court heard.

Connor Rooke blew 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath after the accident on Burnley Road, Bacup, on February 1st. The legal limit is 35.

The 23-year-old, of Ingle Nook, Burnley, admitted driving with excess alcohol on Burnley Road, Burnley, and failing to stop, at the town's magistrates’ court.

He was given a 12-month community order, with 80 hours unpaid work and was told to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

He was banned for 22 months.
