An ‘out of control’ former soldier warned he would be jailed if he continued getting in drunken trouble, has now been locked up.

William Exton (20), of Thames Avenue, was back in the dock at Burnley Crown Court after he threw around six punches towards a doorman at a bar before putting up a ‘vigorous’ struggle with the police on May 24th.

In October 2013 Exton received a suspended sentence for affray after a violent fracas at the New Black Bull, in Padiham, in which a customer was left seriously injured — he breached the sentence and was convicted of being drunk and disorderly.

The offences were committed while Exton was in the Army but he has since left. The defendant was sent to a young offenders institute for six weeks by Judge Simon Newell.
