Family pay tribute to ‘gentle soul’

The family of dead Burnley man Andrew Hayes has paid tribute to a “loving, gentle soul”.

Mr Hayes (37) died in the early hours of Thursday morning after sustaining head injuries in an attack in Lyndhurst Road, Burnley. the previous evening.

A statement released by the police on behalf of his family said: “Andrew was a loving gentle soul, the type of man who wouldn’t hurt a fly, would always stop for a chat, wave and smile.

“He was polite, quiet and everyone’s friend. He will be sadly missed and always loved.”

Wayne Bradbury (29), of no fixed address, was due to appear before Burnley magistrates this morning charged with murder.
