Driver caught 'snoring merrily away' on the M6 near Bamber Bridge with full-beam headlights and engine running

A driver was arrested for being two times over the drink drive limit when they were found asleep in a running vehicle on the M6 near the Bamber Bridge Interchange this morning.

The Mazda was sat on the hard shoulder with the offside indicator flashing, headlights on full beam, and engine running.

Lancashire Road Police said the driver was ‘snoring merrily away’ when officers approached the stationary vehicle near Junction 29.

The person was arrested after providing a roadside breath test of twice the drink drive limit.
