A drink driver almost twice the limit was stopped by police after a tip-off, Pennine magistrates heard.

Paul Gorton (49) of Westgate, Burnley, was banned for 17 months, fined £300 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

A test showed he had 65 micrograms of alcohol in 100 ml of breath. The legal limit is 35.

He was not legally represented and apologised for the offence.
