DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses in the investigation into a 30-man street brawl in which a man was stabbed.
The victim, confirmed by police as 26-years-old, was found with a puncture wound to his back after the incident which happened in Reservoir Street at 8-30 p.m. on Saturday.
Police say a 20-year-old Burnley man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent. Officers also arrested a 19-year-old man suspicion of section 18 wounding with intent and possession of cannabis.
Both men were released on bail pending further inquiries until October 3rd.
The injured man was treated at the Royal Blackburn Hospital for minor injuries and was later discharged.
An investigation into the assault is continuing. Anybody who has any information about the incident is asked to contact police on 08451 25 35 45.
