Clitheroe's Christmas nativity scene 2020 displayed indoors to deter vandals

Clitheroe's centrepiece nativity display is being held indoors this year to stop vandals and thieves from destroying it.

In previous years the historic scene has always been held outside Clitheroe Castle, near the Castle Gates, however, this year it's being exhibited in the Rose and Crown Hotel, on Castle Street.

A spokesman for Clitheroe Town Council said it can be viewed from the main window.

She added: "This year, rather than be up at the Castle Gates as usual, Michelle and Lee of The Rose and Crown, have kindly agreed to host the Clitheroe Christmas Nativity Scene 2020, which can be viewed from the pavement outside the main window.

"Having the festive exhibit indoors will protect the figures from the weather and from vandalism which has, sadly, become a common occurrence in recent years."
