Children banned from buying eggs in troublesome Burnley area

The move - by police - comes after several incidents where offenders have thrown eggs and vandalised properties in that particular area of the town.

PCSO Jackson, of Burnley and Padiham Police, said: "A message to parents in the Burnley Wood area.

"Following on from several incidents where eggs have been thrown at properties in Burnley Wood, shopkeepers have been asked not to sell eggs to kids in the area so ,if you want an omelette go and buy the eggs yourself."
