Burnley woman punched in the face during robbery

A WOMAN was robbed of her mobile phone and purse after being knocked to the floor and punched in the face in Burnley.

Detectives are hunting a man and a woman in connection with the attack on the 26-year-old which happened in Morse Street around 10am on Monday.

The victim had been walking along a ginnel at the rear of the Kingdom Hall when she was approached by her attackers.

They asked her what time it was and then the victim and the man and woman walked off in different directions.

A few minutes later the victim was shoved in the back and was knocked to the ground. The attackers stole her phone and purse out of her jacket pocket and as she turned around to look at them she was hit in the face. They then made off.

The female robber had strawberry blonde curly hair and was wearing a low-cut white top and a long leopard print skirt. She had a tattoo on her chest.

The man was wearing dark clothing and is thought to be between 30 and 40 years old with a bald head. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 01282 478159.
