Burnley woman accused of bigamy


A Burnley woman accused of bigamy and taking part in a sham marriage has seen her trial adjourned until April next year.

Emma-Louise Evans (33) of Hufling Lane, is alleged to have taken part in a ‘marriage of convenience’ with Kazeem Kolade in July 2012 before taking part in a bigamous marriage to Stephen Akinseye in January 2013.

Miss Barbara Webster (prosecuting) said that the Crown at this stage had no alternative but to adjourn the case after further evidence was disclosed.

Mr Recorder Roger Farley, QC, adjourned the case until April 27th.
